Customer: Rockwell International
Problem: Customer was using tapered bolts which had to be pulled (tensioned) to a high load level in order to properly join wing segments to fuselage on the B-1B bomber. Clearance was practically non-existent.
Solution: Biach developed a small custom pivotal unit which provided a high axial load to accomplish customer's requirements. There was no available tool on the market which could handle this application.
